Quick Update

1 min read
So, haven't uploaded anything really substantial lately and I'm hoping that will change sooner rather than later.

I've messed around with my gallery some, gotten rid of some deviations I was less than happy with and moved other to the scraps section because I still kind of liked them, just not enough to put them anywhere else.

I'll be uploading a lot more photos of my cosplays hopefully and maybe doing a few more journal entries. Who knows, I may not even keep up with the journals...because I'm terrible at them... ^^;

Oh well.

So...yeah.

Heartbraking

5 min read
Whether you've been watching the news, listening to others or even reading things online, the disaster that is Japan right now is heartbraking.
If you don't know what's happened, then you have been living under a fucking rock.

On March 11th, Japan was hit by not only a 9.1 earthquack, but was then struck by a  10meter (33ft.) tsunami. With those two disasters under their belt, the aftershocks of the quack were anywhere from 5.0 to 6.1's. For anyone who doesn't know or forget's what they learned in grade school about the richter scale-THAT'S BAD!

The death tole before was about 400-not at all great, but it could have been much worse-well world, it got worse. The death tole since then has risen almost 50 times that now. There are around 20 000 casulties in Japan and that is the number of bodies FOUND. There are still possible survivors. Unfortunately, there is little hope that these people will be found alive or will live much longer after they're found.

If that's not enough for you, there's also a nuclear disaster happening in the Fukushima prefecture.

"The ongoing crisis at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant has turned into what one analyst calls "a slow-moving nightmare," with fires, leaks of poisonous radiation, and mass evacuations."  ( yahoo news news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelook… )

Because of the quack and tsunami, the cooling systems were shut down which caused the reactors to over heat and cause meltdowns which caused mass radiation. The area is so bad, that there has been a 20-50 mile evacuation. But, the worst part is, is that there are still people in that plant. They are friggin heroes. They have been there since the meltdown and have been going through fires, radiation, every bad situation to get this under control and no one can go in and help them. They are heroes for what they are doing. Would you be able to say you'd be able to do the same thing?

These people are risking their lives and have the hugest possiblity of dying, yet they are still trying their hardest. That is what a real hero is.

The most heartbraking thing of all, is to hear that there are people who are saying that Japan deserves this because of Pearl Harbour. I have two things to say to this horrendous comments.

1. NO ONE deserves something like this to happen to them. I wouldn't even wish this on my worst enemy. There are people dying everyday, there's the possibility of radiation sickness, there are people missing and families and friends are frantic trying to find them and there is a huge probability that they never will, so how in the world can someone say that these pour people deserve to have this happen to them.

2. Didn't the US kinda get back at Japan with their damned Atomic bombs already? (yes i know, the US weren't the only ones who were part of that, but i still don't agree that it should have been done, especially not twice.)
Besides, the damage being done now, has surpassed what those bombs did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  After these crisis', it will take years upon years for Japan to make a comeback if they even can at this point.

These poor people need so much help and there are so many good people who are trying, but it's still not enough. If you can, and wish to (i'm not trying to force anyone into it) please donate to charities that actually help like The Red Cross. Every penny donated to the Red Cross for Japan goes straight there.  And there are so many ways to do it. You can make online donations, you can go through gaia-use gaia cash to buy items and all the money from that will be sent to Japan via Red Cross, you can even text 90999 to the Red Cross to make a 10$ donation.

It is so easy and Japan needs the help.

After watching the news and reading things online, i'm being ripped in two. These poor people need all the help they can get and Canada and any other country/person who is willing to help and has the capacity to help really should. We are so lucky and fortunate in our country and have the ability to giver so much. We should be using that ability to our advantage.

For more info, look up news websites, watch tv, and go look at journals here on DA even. :iconyuumei: has a well informed journal right now. yuumei.deviantart.com/journal/…
